On behalf of the Rooney family and our wonderful staff, you are all very welcome to Rooney’s Public House. Every effort has been made to ensure a true Irish experience is in store when you visit the pub. No detail has been spared to make this experience truly special. Our bar features the best of Irish products including the best Irish whiskies, other Irish spirits, and ales and beers including Rooney's Old Irish Ale and the best Guinness this side of the St. James Gate. Our menu features many traditional Irish specialties made with the finest ingredients available. We also feature live music most evenings to capture the spirit of traditional music pubs all around Ireland. Our staff, many of whom hail from Ireland, are trained in the traditional Irish hospitality. Finally, the pub itself was brought directly from Ireland and reconstructed here in Florida. Much of what you see in the pub was salvaged from old structures in Ireland and used in the construction of the pub to add to the traditional old-world feeling.
Of course, one key element of our pub is clearly not from Ireland. Banners, posters, photographs and even a few trophies indicate to the new customer that the Steelers are an intricate part of the atmosphere. Art Rooney Sr., the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Grandfather of the pub‘s founders makes Rooney’s not only an Irish pub, but also a Steelers Nation hub. Art Rooney Sr.’s Grandfather, another Art, emigrated from Newry, County Down and eventually ended up in Pittsburgh. He opened a saloon, Rooney’s Saloon and Café, on the Northside of the city where Three Rivers Stadium later was built.
With this history in mind, it is only natural that Rooney’s is both a traditional pub and Steelers’ headquarters during football season. This rich history along with all of the other important elements mentioned above makes for a wonderful pub. Stop by soon and enjoy the “craic” (an Irish word for good-times). Rooney’s Public House, located in beautiful Jupiter Florida, is Palm Beach County’s premier traditional Irish Pub. Founded in 1998, Rooney’s has been a fixture in the Abacoa neighborhood for over ten years. Located on the corner of Town Center Drive and Edna Hibel, Rooney’s is centrally located in the heart of the town center. Like all great pubs, Rooney’s anchors the hospitality attractions in the area.
Over the years, Rooney’s Public House has become famous for many things. Of course, a proper pint of Guinness sets the standard for all other offerings. Fine pub food, a wonderful old-world atmosphere, spirited traditional Irish music, and a wide variety of special events solidifies the pub’s reputation. However, the long-serving staff and array of loyal regulars really makes Rooney’s pub special. When you are here, you will feel like a regular and will likely become part of the place itself.
